Kalender - Green Tourism Conference in Wien

70 Bulgarian, German, Italian, Croatian, Romanian, and Austrian tourism SMEs, from campsites to quality hotels, are acquiring strictly tested sustainability certificates as part of the EU initiative "European Tourism Going Green 2030" through workshops, international exchange of experiences, expert support, and practical implementation of tailored measures. ÖHV Secretary General Dr. Markus Gratzer is pleased: "Because economic, ecological, and social sustainability are game changers for companies and locations. Getting expert knowledge into practice is not easy, but we have succeeded with the project!"
International Top Experts
On May 3rd and 4th, the closing conference with Climate Minister Leonore Gewessler and Tourism Secretary of State Susanne Kraus-Winkler will take place at the Austria Trend Hotel Savoyen in Vienna. A variety of outstanding experts will give participants input on the way to sustainable tourism 2030: Prof. Dr. Dagmar Lund Durlacher, an expert in tourism management at the University of Sustainable Development Eberswalde, provides insights into ETGG 2030 and the associated goals. Prof. Dr. Fabian Weber from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the University of Bern presents scientific findings on "green marketing and communication." Prof. Dr. Stephan Gössling, who advises the UNWTO, the OECD, and the World Bank, showcases the latest research results on climate change and sustainability in tourism SMEs. Michaela Reitterer, ÖHV Honorary President and owner of the Boutiquehotel Stadthalle, the world's first SDG hotel, shares know-how from 15 years of sustainable hotel management and experiences with authorities, banks, employees and guests in a practical way. Ivana Budin Arhanić, Management Board Member of the Valamar Hotel Group from Croatia, explains how an ESG strategy is developed – something that many companies will soon be facing. In addition, the analyses of those experts who accompanied the 70 companies through the certification process will be presented.

The ÖHV brings experience, expertise, and commitment, the EU finances
The EU finances, and national project partners such as the ÖHV, with decades of experience in training, certified expertise in process management, and above all many members committed to sustainability, organize. The result is impressive: Thanks to ETGG 2030, 70 SMEs are operating even more sustainably. "And reducing their resource consumption. In addition to the positive effect on the environment, they save money and gain sympathy from guests and applicants. Of course, we are happy to bring EU-funded expert knowledge into the business," says Gratzer.
