The 3.5-year long education focuses on the processing of wood as a renewable raw material. After graduation the engineers in timber processing technology can work for the timber industry, trade, and research. They can cope with managing functions in enterprises, offices and diverse institutions. Some of the main subjects taught in this faculty are: engineering, materials science, wood processing, production of sawn timber, veneer, forest products, furniture, cellulose; wood processing machines, business administration, and legislation.
The programme includes a one-semester internship. All lectures are in German.
Additionally, the faculty offers a dual programme which combines technical or industrial vocational training with academic studies. The training starts one year before studying.
