English Language Requirements for International Study Programmes
As our international study programmes (IFEM, FIT, FST, GCM and Sustainable Tourism Management) include lectures, seminars and assignments in English, HNE Eberswalde requires applicants for these programmes to prove English skills at a CEFR B2. We accept the international certificates TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS and Cambridge English. In addition, a German school leaving certificate ("Abiturzeugnis") that has the remark English B2 (or higher) is accepted. Please note that certificates should not be older than 5 years.
Candidates who fail to provide an English certificate upon enrolment may be accepted on an interim basis and will have to provide evidence of their English skills by the end of the first semester. HNE Eberswalde offers a TOEIC test session every December which is accompanied by a preparation course during the winter semester.
We also offer subject-specific, academic English intensive courses for M.A. students.
For IFEM students, the English-language requirement may be waived upon proof of native or near-native English speaker proficiency. IFEM students must meet the requirements described on the application form and passing an oral test. Please note the important information provided on the back of the application form. Winter semester 2020/21 application deadline: 25.10.2020. Please submit your completed application form and all required supporting documentation to the Language Centre by then.
