 Sustainable Economics and Management (B.A.)

What do we mean by sustainable economics and management?

Sustainable economy and management focuses on the responsible use of limited resources in business-related situations - on the sustainable use of people, technologies, financial means and natural resources!

Be a do-gooder - become a shaper of the future!

The study program "Sustainable Economics and Management" is not only about understanding the existing economic system and being able to map it yourself, but also about critically questioning existing structures, finding innovative solutions and promoting change. Sustainable economics is an integrative approach that links known systems with new ideas. At the same time, the management component of the program enables students to acquire operational and strategic competence for a wide variety of business forms, from start-ups to large corporations. Thus, contents of business administration are enriched by aspects of sustainability and relevant competences.

Particularly in the study program and at the department is the focus on the design competencies: in addition to personal and methodological competencies, especially the competence to act in relation to sustainable development and the sustainable development goals of the UN should be promoted. The various dimensions of sustainability accompany as a green thread through the entire study program, but only by adding specialized knowledge and methodological competencies can active shapers of the future be trained.

Through the individual design possibilities of the course of study, students can try out their own abilities within the study period, develop interests and adapt the study objective accordingly. In the process, students take on responsibility themselves in projects and a 20-week practical project and contribute to sustainable development.
