The Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) is Cambodia’s oldest and one of the largest public universities. Indeed, the Faculty of development studies (FDS) is the most relevant to the TranSEA project. This faculty has three departments including the Department of natural resources management, the Department of community development, and the Department of economic development. It also has successfully run the Master's program of development studies for 14 years. The number of publications regarding economics, forestry and environment have reached the most from FDS’s professors regarding economics, forestry economic, and social development.

FDS-RUPP has contributed actively to science and society through their academic publications, capacity building, formal education to students at both Bachelor's and Master's degree, consultant, and joint-collaboration with government and development partners for conservation project implementation. Most of the resources person are full-time lecturers, there are also invited experts from the government (Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Land Management, urban planning, and construction, CDRI, USAID-Greening Preylang, and other experts) to lecture in Master program of development studies and as the guest lectures. Hence, the TranSEA exchange program can be a great opportunity, for lecturers, researchers, and management teams to share and learn the updated knowledge and experience for the sake of sustainable development society.

Master of Science in Biodiversity Conservation

  1. One completed application form, including three 4x6 cm and two 3x4 cm photographs against a white background
  2. A covering letter (In English) stating your motivation to undertake the Master's degree and your goals after graduating (2 pages maximum)
  3. Evidence of proficiency in spoken and written English (recent qualifications only)
  4. Certification of employment (if required)

Master of Climate Change

  1. Application form (one in Khmer and one in English for Cambodian applicants; one in English for foreign applicants)
  2. A certified copy of Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent
  3. A copy of Bachelor transcript
  4. Research Plan (completed with the application forms)
  5. Recent 4 x 6 photos
  6. Recent 3 x 4 photos
  7. Application and Entrance Examination Fees: US$ 20.00 (non-refundable)

Master of Arts in Development Studies

  1. Application forms (one in Khmer and one in English for Cambodian applicants; one in English for foreign applicants)
  2. A certified copy of Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent and a copy of transcript
  3. Good communication in English
  4. Recommendation from a former/current employer or professor
  5. Research Plan (completed with the application forms)
  6. A copy of valid ID card or a copy of family book
  7. Recent 4 x 6 photos with blue background (5)
  8. Recent 3 x 4 photos with blue background (2)
  9. Satisfactory entrance examination results
  10. Experience in the development sector preferred

M.A. Program in Tourism and Resource Management

  1. Application forms (one in English, one in Khmer) enclosed with 4x6 size and 3x4 size photos
  2. A copy of Bachelor certificate certified by the Phnom Penh Municipality
  3. Academic transcript with accumulative GPA from undergraduate study
  4. Letter of tourism-related work certification or any equivalent proof of work involved in the tourism sector
  5. Certificate (s) for English language proficiency (if any, yet non-compulsory)
