Unbenannt

Was hast du vor deiner Zeit an der HNEE so gemacht? I What did you do before you came to the HNEE?

I was a Research Scientist at the Institute for Social Ecological Research (ISOE) in Frankfurt am Main, working on a social-ecological project at the Eastern steppe of Mongolia. ISOE was my third job affiliation after my PhD, which I completed at the Center for Development Research (ZEF) at the University of Bonn. Prior to my PhD, I also worked in non-government organizations and universities on issues ranging from climate change to seaweed propagation.

Was genau machst du am Fachbereich? Kannst du etwas über deine Tätigkeit erzählen? I What exactly do you do at the faculty? Can you tell us something more about your position at the faculty?

I am a Professor at the Biosphere Reserves Institute, which is jointly established by the Faculty of Forest and Environment and the Faculty of Landscape Management and Nature Conservation. I will be teaching students at the international master’s programme called Biosphere Reserves Management and I will also bring in my research interests on indigenous community forestry and climate change.

Was hat dich daran gereizt an die HNEE und den FB1 zu kommen? Was gefällt dir hier besonders? What attracted you to come to HNEE and faculty? What do you particularly like here?

Having "sustainable development” in the name of HNEE caught my attention and made me wonder whether HNEE’s expertise and values are aligned with mine. Upon closer look, I discovered that the work of the Faculty of Forest and Environment (FB1) at HNEE resonates with my research interests and I really like that FB1’s campus is within a forest area. To add to that, colleagues are very welcoming and friendly! All-in-all, it has been a very inspiring start and I look forward to my time at HNEE.
